Kids love making stuff so it’s no surprise that during NAIDOC week they’ve enjoyed learning about the traditions of Australia’s First Nations like smoking ceremonies, carved trees, weaving and local art.

A teacher at Darlington Public School, Kharma Greer, talks about the importance of exploring and celebrating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture for both Indigenous and non-Indigenous city kids.

Kinderling producer Cinnamon Nippard visited Darlington Public School in inner-city Sydney, where 24% of the students are Indigenous, to find out how they celebrate NAIDOC week.
