How a rural midwife is changing the way antenatal education works

Part of the Kinderling Conversation for parents. Weekdays 12pm-1pm.

When you live in a capital city, it can be easy to get to a birth class.

But when you live in the country or remote areas it isn’t that simple.

Registered midwife Edwina Sharrock decided to start an online programme, called Birth Beat, to help those who couldn’t access regular classes. She was shocked to see it become incredibly popular and not just with couples in rural areas.

She opens up about how she got started, the types of people she sees in her courses, and how a good midwife can change a birthing experience entirely.
