Lisa McAdams left her abusive husband when her two children were under three.

It took six attempts, but once she finally left there was no going back. She tells when she finally realised her experience wasn't normal or ok, and how she managed to stick to her plan once she finally left.

If you or someone you know is experiencing domestic violence, the number to call is 1800 RESPECT, or head to White Ribbon where they have an extensive list of support phone numbers.
