How a mothers group supported one mum through unimaginable heartbreak

Mum Kylie Freeman is testament to the importance of a good mothers group.

When Mel Cooper, one of the group's mums, tragically lost her two-year-old son Cody,  they joined forces to support Mel as best they could.

Because not all of the mothers were in Brisbane where Mel and her husband Brad live, Kylie came up with the idea of writing a book to commemorate and celebrate the life of Cody.

The Adventures of Super Cody was written by Kylie and illustrated by all of the mums in the group. What follows is a touching and honest look at the power of community in the face of heartbreak and loss.

Copies of the gorgeous book are $35 plus every cent of profit goes directly  to Hummingbird House, Queensland's only children's hospice, supporting the families of children with life-limiting conditions.

To find out more about The Adventures of Super Cody or to get your hands on your very own copy, reach out to Mel via the Being Cody Cooper Facebook page.
