What is a 'Mama Blessingway'?

Part of the Kinderling Conversation for parents. Weekdays 12pm-1pm.

Wed 25 October 2017

14 mins

Lana Sussman and Kirsty Levin from The Parents Village are both counsellors who are passionate about helping new parents navigate family life.

In their work, Lana and Kirsty have found how wonderful it is to bring women together to celebrate a mum-to-be, but baby showers felt like they were lacking something. They began their Mama Blessingways as a ritual for helping people transition into this next phase of life. A lot of people are actually looking for something more than just a baby shower, which is tied up in superficiality and consumerism.

They explain how a 'Mama Blessingway' can help prepare mums for the arrival of a baby more effectively than a baby shower, and a bit about what happens in the ceremony.

Kirsty and Lana are special guests at the Kinderling Conversation Parent Lounge at One Fine Baby, in Sydney on November 4th and 5th at the Royal Hall of Industries, Moore Park. Come along with the whole crew! Click here to register for your free tickets.
