You'd be forgiven for wondeirng how we parented smartphones. It can seem like the only reason we can keep everyone on time, relatively clean, and mostly alive is because of the magic of technology.

But our smartphones can be as useful as they are distracting.

Manoush Zomorodi  realised she hadn't had a truly great idea since 2009, started questioning why, and wrote a book about it!

Can you guess when she first got a smart phone? 2009.

Her book Bored and Brilliant; how time spent doing nothing changes everything, explores what happens when we force ourselves to put down the gadgets and experience how handy and illuminating boredom can be.

You can read more about Manoush and how to embrace boredom here.

Plus you can get a copy of Bored and Brilliant; how time spent doing nothing changes everything, at all good book stores now.
