Why school kids and teachers need to know more about Type 1 diabetes

Part of the Kinderling Conversation for parents. Weekdays 12pm-1pm.

Wed 28 February 2018

How difficult is it to care for a child with Type 1 diabetes? Olivia Crowley’s daughter was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes when she was 8 years old. Learning how to manage her condition at school, when she wasn’t there to monitor her sugar levels, has been an ongoing process for Olivia. Now Diabetes NSW  & ACT has a resource especially for schools. Diabetes educator Kate Gudorf from Diabetes NSW & ACT tells us all about it.

For more about the program for schools check out the Diabetes NSW & ACT website.
