In frightening news, a cyber-attack on toy company VTech has seen hackers steal personal data from over six million children’s profile accounts globally. The hack on their Learning Lounge and Kids Connect services, which took place on November 14 but was only reported recently, has also compromised Aussie accounts of over 23,000 children and 18,000 parents (read the company’s statement for more info on the breach).

We talk to tech expert Stilgherrian about how the hack happened and the implications for Australian consumers. He also advises VTech customers to use the Have You Been Pwned? site to see if they have been affected.
