Most people have heard of the Archibald Prize, but what about The Young Archie's?

The Young Archie competition is open to children from ages five to 18. There are different age categories, and the children are invited to create a portrait of an important person in their lives.

Victoria CollingsArt Gallery of NSW's community engagement managertalks about why the Young Archie's is so great for budding young artists.

To see the artwork of the winning and shortlisted little artists, including the work of eight-year-old Poppy Barnes featured above, check our the Art Gallery of NSW website.
