Kinderling goes to Fairgrounds

Sun, swimming and sensational bands - the inaugural Berry festival was a sweet escape

It's Kinderling excursion time! We kicked off summer with a road trip to the new Fairgrounds music festival in Berry on NSW's south coast. Set in the town's picturesque Showgrounds, the family-friendly event featured stellar performances from indie acts like Father John Misty, Ratatat, Mercury Rev, Meg Mac, C.W.Stoneking and more.

Meg Mac and Father John Misty were both stand-outs on the day

Just as entertaining was the Little Fairgrounds line-up, which boasted a bonanza of awesome activites for the little ones including jumping castles, ukelele-painting, face-painting and storytelling with famous grown-ups like C.W., Myf Warhurst, Robbie Buck...

Plus there was tug-o-wars, kid karaoke, sumo suit battles and sack races...

But the coolest spot was definitely the pool, with festival-goers and families hitting the water on a hot afternoon...

All in all, it was an awesome day out for big kids and little kids alike, and it was great to see so many youngsters up on parents' shoulders soaking up the music day and night. Who needs a bedtime anyway?

We can't wait for next year's adventure.
