High Five: Great Pretenders Club by The Pop Ups

Each week Kinderling gives a HIGH FIVE to music, artists, albums and other stuff we think is awesome!

Great Pretenders Club is the brilliant fourth album from super-cool k-indie group, The Pop Ups. With a core theme of imagination and play, each of the 11 songs invites an exploration of what is possible in the limitless world of a child’s imagination; like building a rainbow from stuff around the house (Make A Rainbow), making music from everyday objects (We Live In An Orchestra) or having a fun picnic inside on a rainy day (Indoor Picnic).

Based in Brooklyn, New York, the Grammy nominated duo have amassed a huge family following over their previous three albums thanks to their of-the-moment, electro-acoustic pop sound, coupled with cleverly constructed lyrics. As relatable to children as to their grown-ups, The Pop Ups have succeeded once again on Great Pretenders Club to stake their claim as smart, audio funsters - a great reason to get our High Five this week!
