High Five: Musical Creatures 1 by Musical Creatures

Each week Kinderling gives a HIGH FIVE to music, artists, albums and other stuff we think is awesome!

MUSICAL CREATURES 1 is one cool kids album. It bypasses the plinky plonky nursery rhyme formula, instead reimagining a child’s world through an acoustic, indie rock attitude.

Self-esteem, trying new food, difficult emotions and dancing games are all explored through cute and clever lyrics filtered through catchy tunes that give a hefty nod to the likes of Morrissey, Feist, The Beatles and Outkast.

Partners in music and parenting, Musical Creatures are Shelley and James; worldwide travellers, musicians, and mummy and daddy to their two kids who have in no small way inspired this incredible debut album.

It will be hard to know who will love MUSICAL CREATURES 1 more – the grown-ups or the kids - but who cares!!
