High Five: Songs In The Dark by The Wainwright Sisters

Each week Kinderling gives a HIGH FIVE to music, artists, albums and other stuff we think is awesome!

From talented singer-songwriter-siblings, Martha Wainwright and Lucy Wainwright Roche, Songs In The Dark is a children’s lullaby album unlike any other in 2015.

Equal parts haunting and soothing, these songs allow a glimpse into a rich musical past; into a time when children’s lullabies and nursery rhymes spanned a variety of themes - even dark and complex ones. (Ring-a-Ring-a-Rosie anyone?)

Sung to them by their respective mothers when they were kids, these personal folk lullabies are reimagined by Martha and Lucy for a new generation of parents and children.

To hear more from Songs In The Dark tune into I'm Awake and Settle Petal all this week on Kinderling.
