1. The Good Place
NETFLIX: The delightful Kristen Bell stars alongside the hilarious Ted Danson in this existentialist comedy examining good and NOT so good.
2. The Affair
STAN: This gripping drama is shot around picturesque Montauk in the US, and stars the truly excellent Dominic West and Ruth Wilson. It's about an affair. And that's all we'll tell you. Watch and all will be revealed.
NETFLIX: Not for the faint-hearted, Mindhunter is a thriller based around the development of psychological profiling of serial killers. It's scary, unsettling, terrible and great - often all at the same time.
NETFLIX: A little bit Breaking Bad, a little bit Bloodline, this family-on-the-run-from-bad-guys show is worth watching JUST to see Jason Bateman and Julia Garner doing their acting thing VERY expertly.
5. The Masters of Sex
STAN: This entertaining and at-times confronting series is a must-watch. It's about a couple of experts researching the science of human sexuality which sounds weird and sordid, but it's actually ... weird and really interesting! Think Mad Men with more clinical sex and you'll be close.
6. Friday Night Lights
STAN: If you're a fan of Nashville or Bloodline and haven't watched this show, then you must get on it TONIGHT! Sort of about football, mostly about relationships, utterly addictive.
7. American Crime Story: The People vs OJ Simpson
NETFLIX: Sarah Paulson is outstanding in this dramatisation of the events surrounding Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman's murders - and OJ Simpson's arrest and trial. She plays lead prosecutor Marcia Clark and you'll also spot John Travolta, Cuba Gooding Jnr, David Schwimmer and Selma Blair amongst the cast. Watch this before the new season, featuring the death of Gianni Versace, hits our screens.
STAN: If ever there was a loveable serial killer, Dexter is it. YES, this show is very gory and bloody, but it's pretend blood so with that - and the fact that it's awesome - in mind, maybe add it to your list?!
9. Life on Mars
STAN: John Simm and Philip Glenister co-star in this great UK series featuring a time-travelling modern-day copper who inexplicably finds himself living in 1973. Sounds cheesy, is in fact excellent and non-cheesy.
NETFLIX: It's an oldie but a rollicking, entertaining goodie, just perfect for an extended binge-watching session with your nearest and dearest. Plus you might learn some handy survival skills, so there's that!
11. The Fall
NETFLIX: The Fall sees X-Files favourite Gillian Anderson fighting creepy crims in Belfast, basically being a total badass in pencil skirts and slinky blouses.
NETFLIX: This Jack the Ripper-related crime series stars some amazing English geezers and is excellently written and produced by the excellent iTV studios. Watchlist it, stat!
