1. What is your favourite thing about being a parent?
My favourite thing about being a father is getting to play with LEGO again. They even have Star Wars LEGO now. It's a wonderful time to be alive.
2. What’s your favourite thing to do with your children?
I love making up songs and experimenting with silly voices with my four-year-old. We really enjoy making each other laugh. It's nice to have someone in the house who has no concept of what a mortgage is.
3. What is the thing you miss most about life pre-children?
All those hours and hours of idle time I used to have. Nowadays it's a real effort to waste time.
4. What has been the biggest surprise for you about being a parent?
People tell you about the love you feel when you first hold your newborn baby's hand, but you really can't prepare for how powerful it is. For me it was like someone had just switched on all the lights inside a giant room in my heart that I never knew was there. My understanding of life changed in an instant.
5. What does 'me time' look like for you?
'Me time' is sitting in a cafe after a swim doing the Cryptic Crossword. There's also another type of 'me time', which I justify to my wife by calling it 'work'.
