Hey kids, do you love partying and story-telling? We do! That’s why we’re organising an awesome free disco party at the Sydney Writers’ Festival on Sunday May 22.
Grab a grown-up and rock up to Pier 4/5, Walsh Bay, for our special Regression Session Disco featuring Kinderling’s music director and superstar DJ, Lorna Clarkson, and bubbly party host Barry Divola. What a double act! She'll be playing your favourite family tunes and he'll be taking requests from your mums and dads. Plus, surprise Writers’ Festival guests will be dropping in to share their favourite songs.
It's all part of the SWF’s Glowtopia, a special one-day event for kids of all ages. So after you’ve boogied with Barry and Lorna, pull up a beanbag at the Storytime Clubhouse and chill out as a bunch of children’s authors and illustrators read you their stories. Mini-Muggles can also help colour in a giant Harry Potter mural, get arty at the Craft Depot or swap old books for new inside Russ the Story Bus.
And, whatever you do, don’t forget your camera! Your favourite book characters will be strolling the boardwalk all day long so if you’re lucky you could bump into Maisy, Wally or Geronimo Stilton. Plus, Grug the walking, talking Burrawang tree has promised to hit the Wharf and give out yummy cake, Grug-licious goodie bags and heaps of free hugs!
So come on down and enjoy the Best of the Writers’ Fest with Kinderling and our book-loving friends!
