Kinderling News & Features

Know a little Emma fan? Or, like, 20?

The hugely popular yellow Wiggle has a new album! And, I know, exciting!

Here’s what you need to know.

EMMA! 2

The CD will be a collection of tunes from series 2 of Emma! which airs daily on ABC KIDS TV and ABC iview.

“I have chosen a selection of my favourite songs from the new Emma! series to share with you,” says Emma, who promises they will get little ones grooving.

“Walk, jump, skip, dance or wheel your way to the garden as we visit dancing butterflies, frogs, kittens and ponies. Also, pop on your dancing shoes as we try samba, salsa, ballet, tap, Highland, Irish and jazz,” says the  dancing queen – yippee!

The CD comes out September 27, so if you have any tot birthday parties coming up, you might want to pop a few of these in the present cupboard. Gift sorted!

There’s also a DVD

As well as the CD, a DVD is coming later – sometime next month, according to the press release.

Languages discovered through song

The best thing about the new album is that it features some songs in different languages, showing preschoolers language diversity and teaching them a few words.

“Listen out for the ‘Five Fingered Family’ in Tamil and in Anindilyakwa, the language of the Warnindilyakwa people that live on Groote Eylandt, right at the top of Australia,” says Emma.

“My dear friend, Emily Wurramara, sings with me in Anindilyakwa,” she adds.

“I’m so excited to feature new songs like the Greek nursery rhyme ‘Mia Oréa Petalútha’, ‘Walking on the Moon’ and ‘Emma Baila Baila!’” the Yellow Wiggle shares.

A bowtiful day

Emma and The Wiggles have worldwide fans, so the the new album is sure to please little ones who like to dance with pointy fingers far and wide.

The Wiggles have just come back from a tour of the USA, and have their end of year ‘Big Show’ tour coming up. This will see them perform in arena-sized venues nationwide.

But if you can’t catch a show, you can bring Emma into your home with this latest album.

When the day starts with singing and dancing, it is indeed a “bowtiful day”!
