Alex Papps talks music, Play School and that 'craft' experiment

Wed 28 October 2015
The Play School legend is playing the free Giant Picnic party in Sydney this Sunday so we gave him a call. Here's some highlights - stream the full chat below.
Playing the Giant Picnic at Barangaroo
"It’s going to be massive. I’ll be doing songs from my album Let's Put The Beat In Our Feet from last year and I did a rehearsal yesterday with the little trio, and it’s all sounding really good."
About reuniting with former co-star Justine Clarke, who’s also performing
"We’ve been friends for a long, long time. [Our characters] Frank and Roo were one of the first couples on Home & Away all those years ago. It was a lovely full circle moment when I started Play School 10 years ago and we worked together again after a very long break."
On music and doing a new album
"Recording my first album was a great experience and a very new thing for me. I’d love to do another one, but I’ll see how this one ticks over. I'm certainly excited about this Sunday."
On that recent Play School ‘craft sess’
"To be honest, I can’t remember what we were trying to make. The episode’s from about four years ago and I think it was an experiment about water pressure. I can’t recall anyone making a comment at the time. But taken out of context, it does look like what it looks like. I think it did look pretty innocent in the actual segment. "
