How craft can make children love art galleries

Great podcasts for parents and carers

Taking your kids to an art gallery can be a seriously ambitious venture. While you want to let the magnificence of the gorgeous artworks wash over you, your kids can have very different ideas. That's where Victoria Collings, a very crafty lady, thinks we can be doing better in terms of encouraging children to experience art and unlock their own creativity.

Victoria is the Community Engagement Manager at the Art Gallery of NSW, which means it's her job to take an art exhibition, and extend it into something children can touch, play with and take home.

Children can make their very own art to take home after their visit to the gallery.

For more of information on the work the Art Gallery of NSW is doing with families, and the Lady and The Unicorn exhibition  and workshops check out their website.

Make sure you never miss out on expert advice and stories from real parents by subscribing to Kinderling ConversationAvailable in iTunesStitcher, or wherever you get your podcasts.
