Five to eight per cent of pregnant women will develop gestational diabetes, usually in the 24th to 28th week of pregnancy. Melinda Morrison, National Program Leader of the NDSS (National Diabetes Services Scheme), Diabetes in Pregnancy program tells us who is at risk of getting gestational diabetes and whether it has implications for a woman’s long term health.
