Grandpa's Space Adventure by Paul Newman

Thu 25 October 2018

To celebrate Grandparent's Day on October 28, our latest Story of the Week is a tribute to grandparents - and in particular - the special relationship grandparents have with their grandkids.

“I’m scared of the dark…But Grandpa says there’s nothing to be afraid of, so tonight we’ll be camping out.”

This grandpa has the gift of the gab and has a lot of fun relaying tall tales about his space escapades to his wide-eyed grandson.

This delightful book is written by Paul Newman, an Irish-born author, illustrator and art teacher based in Sydney, with gorgeous illustrations by Tom Jellett Sydney-based illustrator. Tom's colourful and signature style illustrations can also be found gracing the pages of other children's books, like The Gobbledygook and the Scribbledynoodle by Justine Clarke.

To read along with the pictures, get your own copy of the book at your favourite bookstore, or online at BooktopiaGrandpa's Space Adventure is published by Penguin Random House Australia.

Read by Tom Campbell.
