Who's Your Real Mum? By Bernadette Green

Thu 7 May 2020

Families come in all shapes and sizes. Some kids have a mum and a dad, some kids have a grandma, some kids have two mums, some kids have one dad.

Sometimes kids like Nicholas ask curly questions about their friend's families.

Elvi, which one is your mum?’
‘They’re both my mums.’
‘But which one’s your real mum?’

Elvi gives Nicholas lots of fun clues, until he finally understands!

Written by Bernadette Green and illustrated by Anna Zobel, this sweet, funny story captures exactly what lies at the heart of family life - love.

Growing up, Bernadette Green couldn't be happier than when she was high up in a tree or riding her horse, Blue. As a young girl she dreamed of becoming a writer but life took her down lots of interesting paths. She became a youth worker and shiatsu therapist before eventually returning to writing.

As a child, Anna Zobel wrote and illustrated her own books, and she simply never stopped! Based in Melbourne, today Anna is an illustrator, writer and teacher who draws inspiration from her young charges.
